Description
Anemotrypa can be translated in English as "Windhole". It is a cave that has been created by the riverbed of an underground river. The river had created in the past three caves or three distinct levels. The first level has been collapsed, the second level is the cave of Anemotrypa, and the third level is the current riverbed of that underground river. At the end of the walkable path, someone can see a small part of the river's bed.
Anemotrypa has a total length of 350m within an area of 1,500 square meters. Visitors can only walk a 270m path inside the cave. The rocks of the cave date between 12 and 15 million years and it is considered the most white cave in Greece, as it hosts clean limestone. It has a constant temperature throughout the year that reaches 19 degrees Celsius while the temperature of the water reaches 10 degrees Celsius.
