Description
Mparos pass is the highest road in Greece, At almost 1900m it connects Epirus with Thessaly regions and the mounts of Tzoumerka with Lakmos mount in the central Pindus. Until 1912 this pass over the mountains was the Greek-Ottoman borders. For centuries people used to cross it with their caravans that carried goods and other stuff. In 2013 the last part of the paved road was given for use.
During Winter the road gets closed because of the heavy snowfalls that cover the whole area. Even in Summer, the winds are very strong at the pass and the weather is always unpredictable.
