On May 28th and 29th 2016, we visited the Timfi (Tymfi) mount and its famous alpine lake.

The Timfi lake is the largest and most known alpine lake in Greece. It is located under the Ploskos peak (Ploskos peak is 2.377m high) at 2.050m. The perimeter of the lake is at about 350m and extends up to an area of 8.000 square meters. The lake is the habitat of an amphibious species called Tritons, which are protected species under national laws.

This photo earned an Honorable Mention in the Monochrome Awards 2016. The 2016 Monochrome Awards at that time had received nearly 7000 submissions from 86 countries around the world.
