My personal favorite black and white image, titled "Abandoner". Inspired by Steven Wilson's titular song. Steven Wilson is an inspiration to me. A dark, sentimental and powerful musician, a phenomenal artist, someone whose music accompanies me every day and saturates my way of seeing and feeling the world.
This photo was captured in the Pertouli village area in the Trikala region - Greece. When I saw this trunk abandoned at this place, a dead lifeless tree, I knew I had to create a strong black and white composition to emphasize this extraordinary view. With one question that sparked directly in my mind. Who has the most life inside? The living trees in the background or the Abandoner who chose to stray from the crowd and follow another destiny. The semantics is strong! And the one who chooses to lead sometimes has to rip off the usual social compromises we all do everyday. But will he survive? And finally is the tree really dead, or still lives but in another form?
High-quality imagery by Elias Pentikis with his own hand-written signature provided with a 30-day money-back guarantee from Fine Art America. Canvas prints, metal prints, fine art paper prints, framed prints.

In addition to the banner, I am adding this more permanent recognition of its FEATURE on the homepage of A TREE OR TREES IN BLACK AND WHITE. I try mightily to feature only images that would be at home in a juried competition. No doubt that this image fits that bill. CONGRATULATIONS! And consider adding your image to DISCUSSIONS "Please post your featured photograph here" for greater, long-lasting visibility.
